Being a Mom (3/20/10)

"Being a Mom:
A Guided Support Group for Mommies"

The group provides a warm and relaxing haven for women who are expecting or have infants up to 1 year old who want to address their full range of emotions and experiences of being a Mom. They address different states such as excitement over their pregnancy and the miracle of a new baby, relief, concerns, fears, overwhelm and the art of juggling, nurturing and appropriately raising baby, caring for self and others, questions about being a Mom and wearing a multitude of other hats, etc. all while having the support of each other on their Mothering Journey.

The Group is supportive and therapeutic in nature facilitated by a Marriage and Family Therapist who brings family and relationships insights and concepts to the meetings. Participants address their belief systems, values, expectations, emotional world, needs, and practical issues while learning how to navigate and make changes in their relationships and life that support them.
